Jikiden means directly in Japanese. The name of Jikiden Reiki stands for the direct line in the Japanese Reiki because this form of Reiki was taught about the year 2000 only within Japan.
Jikiden Reiki was not about Mrs. Takata and therefore is not westernized. The original context for each of the techniques has been preserved. The Jikiden Reiki Institute was founded by Chiyoko Yamaguchi (1921-2003) and her son Tadao Yamaguchi. Chiyoko Yamaguchi learned Reiki in 1938 Chujiro Hayashi. In Jikiden Reiki Reiki is to be pure and without additives, practiced and passed on.
