Consequences of the Atlas-shift

The Atlas

The first cervical vertebra, known as Atlas, is by its anatomy one of the most sensitive and vulnerable points in the human body. The skull base, atlas (first cervical vertebra) and the Axis (second cervical vertebrae) form with the associated soft tissues of the head joints. This area is one of the most important reflex centers of the human body which serves the perception of space and controls the tension of the core muscles. The close connection of the receptors in this area and the brain, the atlas takes a key position in the whole spine.

What can move the atlas?

The atlas may have a difficult birth, by mechanical aids, such as ventouse or forceps, will be moved in a newborn. Also missteps, falls, work, sports and traffic accidents (whiplash) can cause a shift in Atlas.

It was found that almost everyone has a displaced atlas vertebra. We know today that have the smallest displacement (subluxation) of the atlas influence on brain nerves, blood vessels, spinal cord and a reduced flow of information between head and body.

Impact on joints, muscles and nervous system

Effects on muscles, nerves, circulatory system and internal organs may be the result. In addition, the spine, the misalignment of the atlas has a rotation in the sacroiliac joint (sacroiliac compensate), the consequence of the pelvis and the leg length difference. • KIDD * syndrome = head joint - induced dyspraxia / Dysgnosie
• Result from the KISS syndrome which was not treated in infancy
• Dyspraxia = inability to perform learned movements despite the presence of perceptual and motor ability
• Dysgnosie = fault detection of the assets / perception
• ADD / ADHD = Attention Deficit Disorder / Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Syndrome
• Result from KIDD syndrome which was not addressed in the child
